The Eraserheads Reunion is Pushing Through
Before anything else i want to say thank you to Jim Ayson for commenting on my past post about Eraserheads Free Reunion Concert is Now Officially Canceled. The Eraserheads reunion concert is pushing through with a new sponsor but this time it not free.
Same location which is the Fort Bonifacio open field (August 30, 2008).
Email sent by Raymond Marasigan confirming the Eraserheads Reunion Concert to sandwich mailing list
dear everybody
after much ado. the eraserheads concert is most definitely pushing through.
philip morris and its brands have pulled out from the concert. but another company is taking over the production. the turn over started
yesterday and they have already started work on the site in the fort. so you can check.there are good news and bad news.
unfortunately it’s no longer free. all the long winded registration procedures in the red nation site is now void.
the good news is that the age limit is now 12 years old (for safety reasons) and tickets will be sold so you don’t have to wait for confirmation and what not.
the official announcement and ticketing details will come out in major newspapers and on the radio on tuesday.
these are the only details i know for now so no need to email me. i’m just the drummer.
btw. i just got home from the last rehearsal. the band is cooking. we will see you all on the 30th.
For more details watch out this coming tuesday (August 26, 2008) It might be published all newspapers, plugged in the radio, and lastly the internet.

BAKIT HINDI NA LANG MAGLABAS NG ISANG OFFICIAL STATEMENT! Ticket details etc.
YES its all confusing and i couldn’t help but agree with this blog http://jive.ph/Urbandido/blog/
To those who post without basis or confirmation please refrain. To the people behind the concert specifically Leo Burnett people, please think twice before spreading infos. We all know that publicity good or bad sells your client but you are not supposed to spill chaotic confusion.
Why am i single handedly indicating the ad agency?
1)One Nation, One Brand, One Night Only is your tag for the concert right? You already spilled it out before Marlboro even posted it on their website. Didn’t you guys think the DOH would find this arrogant – One Brand, One Nation? So now what? The organizer can’t get a permit? Ang galing niyo.
2) The reversed E as the show’s logo is your creation. You already leaked this pic in several blogs.
3) That shallow blogger Conde had inside information including the bands’ talent fees that only you knew about.
4) Before any official statement, you already told people that Marlboro has given up and show is canceled. I personally witnessed this when one bald stage actor/model confidently announced in a bar that the show is canceled, when asked how he knew, he proudly stated “oh friends from Leo Burnett”
Now the concert is really pushing through… No thanks to this ad agency who gets paid for messing with the fans’ expectations, for over excitedly pouring through the internet the concert details.
Hilo’s comment here is right: “BAKIT HINDI NA LANG MAGLABAS NG ISANG OFFICIAL STATEMENT! Ticket details etc. Kung hindi pa plantsado eh di tumahimik na lang muna. Nahihilo na kami.”
Hi Hilo, ako rin naghihintay ng resulta about this concert, and wag ka maglabas ng sama ng loob mo, basta for me maghihintay ako for the concert at about marlboro hindi na sila kasali okay.
Hopefully, the tickets will be a whole lot easier to get compared to the process Marlboro had. Ready na akong wag manood sana ng concert, but if I can just go ahead and buy tickets for the concert, game. I hope ok din ang security, especially now that even minors can get it.
Frankly, ganito nalang sana yung ginawa in the first place. No offense, pero dami pang arte ng sponsors, with all the secrecy and process as to how one can get tickets.
about 2 years ago
To LUNEDI and YOUNGMAZE- Dapat nga straight up ang info nuon pa.
HOY! Mga tsismoso! Jan ba kayo binabayaran? Taga leak ng info? Nanggugulo lang kayo!
Ang masasabi ko lang – I agree with the comment of PhilWired.
about 2 years ago
Wow! Bumbigat na mga comments regarding the concert. I first observed the blogs and posts since tail end of July. When the leaked info was CCP grounds pa. My family silently waited for any official word on how to get tickets. I agree with you Rick Ramos, naging messy na talaga when obviously leaked informations flooded the internet and got everyone confused. The internet is a no man’s land where anyone can post comments, opinions and infos. the mess could have been avoided had the ad agency made plans to handle the internet world.
Is that all you can comment jimayson? You’re guilty as hell for seeking any information from your connections from the ad agency. You & your connections have no sense of responsibility whether the public will be confused or agitated.
To Marben
To Jim Ayson
Teka ano sinasabi mo!
To Loraine
To Arnie
about 2 years ago
tsk tsk…the enthusiasm is waning. I hope that this time around with the concert pushing through, the ad agency doesn’t screw things up as they did from the start. Don’t these agency people have any sense of professionalism?
Very well said Rick Ramos!! The show will go on! Let’s all wait for an official statement. That’s all everyone needs, one official public announcement. And not some “inside” information coming from stupid agency personnel.
Hmpf – for the record I have absolutely no connections with an ad agency whatsoever – but everything comes out in the eraserheads mailing list, you can lurk there and find all there is to know.

Yeah, tama ka…

To Marben, Loraine Pineda and Germaine. Thanks a lot for your comments.
To Phil Robles, the vigilance against further “leaked” information is all over the Philippine blogland.
To Leo Burnett, choose your employees wisely. Nobody will believe you anymore.

Hello Gabriel
You’re still awake man
For what its worth (and i know i can get dissed for this), we can thank Marlboro for spearheading the reunion. They got alot of flak and yes, beatings for all their effort. Still and all, it cannot be denied that the stir they created for organizing the reunion proved how much the populace loves the Eraserheads.
To Arnie, cool ka lang bro.
Denisa…Yes. Some dude named Miguel. Tactless talaga.
Oh and Gabriel, Leo Burnett is the name of a company. Not one person. Its immature employees are the ones who created the havoc of misinformation and event leakage from the start.
See you on the 30th

Peeps, please calm down. Patience is a virtue. Kaya nga naging confusing ang mga info about this concert because some people can’t wait. Let’s just wait for today’s announcement ok. Ang masasabi ko lang…
TY Philip Morris/Marlboro for taking the big step in putting up this reunion concert though risky it may seem. I can only guess that the plans are not fully ironed yet plus there are FORCES that hinder you from disseminating the info then re this event, that’s why you are kept mum until it’s the right time. What could be the reason why you pulled out as the organizer…yan din ang aabangan ko…sayang din kasi it’s free pero ok din if I pay for my pass.
To HLB people who couldn’t keep their mouth shut. Lagot kayo, I’m sure if you guys will be proven guilty you should be penalized! Are you still confident the trust and confidence of your clients are still there?
To Raymond Marasigan (my Sandwich star), I thought E-heads is NOT ALLOWED to speak a word regarding the concert (as per your contract). Sana po di ka na lang muna nagsalita and wait for PM or your new organizer to announce what you mentioned in your email.
Sallievie says: “…Kaya nga naging confusing ang mga info about this concert because some people can’t wait”
Correct, the agency people couldn’t wait to pass info dati pa! The agency couldn’t even wait for any announcement from THEIR CLIENT and immediately leaked that the show is canceled.
After the 30th, i wonder if this agency will ever get clients anymore for mishandling this. Wala silang idea how big this is. Kung meron man, wala silang maturity to wait things out before spreading half truths and rumors.
To Asarnaako
Himagsikan.
To Arnie
To Sallievie
Hindi natin alam ang complete details we should wait for it. peace basta Sallievie TULOY ANG CONCERT “smile“.
To PhilRobles
Gabriel, masyado kang hot-headed…cool man!
Sino naman ang gegarahin mo nyan if ever? LOL
Kaya nga we have to have patience to wait for the right info from the right people para walang confusion, di ba? This would either be from Philip Morris/Marlboro or the new company.
Tuloy nga daw ang concert according to my very credible source (na hindi taga-agency mind you!)…at ang balita ko nga e around 1,500 up ang cost ng ticket. Ready na ba kayo bumili?

ha? so, so expensive!!! i’m even planning to go to manila and then its that expensive?

To Sallievie: I coulnd’t help but smile and giggle with your statement- “….Tuloy nga daw ang concert according to my very credible source (na hindi taga-agency mind you!)…”
LOL! Everyone’s mindful now where they get their sources. This leakage fiasco from HLB proved that they hadn’t been credible from the start.
To Phil Robles: Applause to your post – “After the 30th, i wonder if this agency will ever get clients anymore for mishandling this. Wala silang idea how big this is. Kung meron man, wala silang maturity to wait things out before spreading half truths and rumors.” How very true.
I am now without guilt in my anger towards the mismanagement of Leo Burnett since I drove to the fort tonight. For me no other source whether the show is pushing through or not (and it is) is more credible than my own eyes.
There it is, steel structures where the stage will be. People building fences. Trucks coming in and out to deliver materials. I couldn’t get nearer since the place is off limits to outsiders. But i got a chance to talk to someone building the fences. And this where my anger is justified;
“manong, gaano katagal niyo mabubuo ang harang sa field?” i asked.
“naku matagal pa” he said. “Aabot ba kayo?” i was concerned (the poor fellow seemed really tired)
“eh kasi nag back out yung mga ibang dapat magtratrabaho dito dahil kumalat ang tsismis na wala na eh. nagkagulo lahat ng mga magseset-up sana dito”
“Tuloy naman di ba?” i insisted. “Tuloy nga, di ko lang alam kung bakit lumabas pa yung balibalita na yun kaya eto kaming nahiirapan at kulang ang tao”
My wife could only heave a sigh and said, “these HLB assholes didn’t even think about the people working behind the scenes”
I agreed with her. Its not just the public and the fans that were thrown in disarray. It’s the people working for the concert itself. And that is the ultimate reckless attitude all of you who commented here have pointed out.
To quote Sallievie; “To HLB people who couldn’t keep their mouth shut. Lagot kayo, I’m sure if you guys will be proven guilty you should be penalized! Are you still confident the trust and confidence of your clients are still there?”

To Rick Ramos
LOL!
kaya mahal.
I don’t have an idea about the price bro. Mejo tight ang security sa fort eh. I had to park near fitness first and not near the area where the concert will be. Wala din makasagot dun sa area. Konti lang nagtratrabaho kanina. Mukha ngang kulang ng tao.
Sana nga lumabas na ang official statement. At sana hindi ganun kamahal. To some okay lang siguro ang 1500 na nabanggit dito. To others like me, i hafta pay for my wife and grown kids
about 2 years ago
To RICK RAMOS – Ang ganda ng kuwento mo bro.
Marben, I do not discount the benefit of Raymond’s announcement. In a way it helped. My point lang is, if everybody does the same mistake of another then nobody’s doing the right thing anymore. I mean, I’m not being righteous or anything, I’m just saying let’s learn to follow rules and keep our mouth shut if we are not in the position to say anything.
Kung iisipin nating mabuti PM/Marlboro and the new company has not say anything until now (although they said they will say something yesterday). Probably there are certain circumstances that delays them. Matindi ang bureaucracy sa big and multinational companies. Sila ang naiipit dito kung tutuusin.
Gusto nating lahat na makakuha na ng confirmed details at makabili na ng ticket, oo, but I guess we really have no choice but to wait. Kasi, as what I’ve gathered from the grapevine wala pang signed deal ang new company to take over and even the construction at The Fort is being questioned.
From a businessman’s perspective mas malaki ang damaged caused by the agency’s info spillage sa promoters. Kaya let’s keep our cool na lang muna
.

O ayan guys it’s all in the news last night!
Radiohead Media is taking over at ibinaba nila ang price to 800 and 1,300 from the original planned 1,050 and 2,060. I guess they got scared they won’t be able to fill the venue for 35k concert goers. And if they succeed in filling up the place the next question is: Will they be able to execute all the logistical arrangements in just a few days before the event? That’s for us to find out.
It’s a busy busy 3 days for Ticket World. Good luck guys!
O ayan, bili na tayo!
Had to drop by this site after exhaustively checking for any official word on the reunion. Google led me here.
I am blown away reading the comments and i find it interesting that Jim Ayson checks in here. Blown away since i agree 100% to what is said about HLB.
Jimayson, man, you deny any “scoop” from the ad agency? I read this link weeks ago. What you stated never appeared in the e-heads mailing list. It was mentioned though after you had already said it.
http://www.gmanews.tv/story/106775/Eraserheads-to-reunite-for-one-night-only-in-Aug
But after dust has settled from the confusion and hearsays; It’s finally official. Its untainted by ad agency scoop and it’s final. Aug 30, the fort. Ticket prices at 800 and 1,300 available at ticketworld.
Finally
We can all be at peace now.
Yes, there it is. I also got a text message. An official statement everyone’s waiting for. Okay na ko sa 800. Now lets all wish for clear weather on the 30th, a smooth show, a tight band everyone loves and a good night of rock history playing before us
about 2 years ago
Yehey! See you all on Aug 30.
This reunion went through a lot. What a roller-coaster ride. Browsing the internet I see a thousand posts and comments regarding the awful handling of the reunion. Kasama pa rin ba sila as promoter? I am a true blue concert goer but i have never experienced something na naging ganito kagulo.
Eppie: HLB is Hemisphere Leo Burnett. No they are not concert promoters but Marlboro’s advertising agency. Good question if they are still part of the concert.
They do commercials and should just stick to commercials than do concert events. They don’t handle gate entrances. Obviously from what we have seen, they don’t even know how to organize concerts. As far as i know, hanggang image lang sila ng produkto ng clients nila ang inaayos nila. Well they gave their client Marboro a bad image. They are simply the ad agency of Marlboro but acted as if they own the reunion with their reckless info spillage.
Scroll up and read.
So see you at the fort and I hope that this eases your concern in entering the concert on the 30th.

Rick Ramos: i can feel your interest and passion regarding this whole mess. if you want more juicy inside stories, email me melbuena@gmail.com so i can share those to you.
please, let us not put HLB down too much. There are other groups involved in the project other than HLB. These groups could have caused the spillage as well. don’t pass judgment naman. Although i agree with you Rick Ramos that some info can only come from the agency like what you said (tags, logo, tactless actors). But anyone from the group could have spilled misinformations and claim they are from the agency to cover themselves up.
Pero tapos na yun. By Saturday show na. let’s be positive that it will be a good show. I saw the news tonight showing the huge stage. Mejo mayabang nga lang ang dating ng stage when all we want to see is an intimate experience with the band. A one night only musical experience with a beloved band. And here it is. let’s just enjoy ourselves on the saturday and put the whole mess behind us.To Ely Buendia, our condolences to your family. peace.

I’m excited about this concert. I’m just not sure if there are still tickets available. Only found out that the concert is pushing through yesterday. I’ve been living under a rock for the past week what with my work and all.
Anyway, I’m happy that it’s pushing through but at the back of mind, I can’t help but think that there won’t be any chemistry among the band members.
I was listening to 107.5 (but I think it was 103.5) and there was this caller who was a good friend of Raymund’s. He said that the band members were approached separately by the organizers. In fact, Raymund and Buddy initially did not agree to the concert. I guess true blue E-heads fans would know why.
Eventually though, Raymund agreed because he thinks he owes it to the fans. That’s a kind gesture from a genuine rock star.
By the way, I hope you’ll permit me to copy and paste the letter in my blog, http://www.findingneverwhere.blogspot.com.
Thanks!
